Voice Lessons
Do you want to find more ease in your singing?
Increase your confidence?
Sing with more vibrance, clarity, and power?
We offer vocal lessons in Toronto for students of all ages and abilities. Whether you are an experienced singer preparing for an audition, a member of a community choir, or just interested in trying something new, we're certain your singing lessons will be an engaging and rewarding experience.
Our teaching is based on a firm knowledge and understanding of vocal anatomy and function as well as years of performance experience. We rely on tried and tested vocal training methods to produce noticable results. With a studio conveniently located near Eglinton Ave. W and Allen Rd., we are easily reached from all parts of Toronto and close to the TTC.
Our approach:
Our goal with every student is to help them find a sound that is balanced, healthy, and easily produced. We encourage our students to be true to their voices and not attempt to imitate the sounds of other singers. We can help you:
- Find a relaxed and released body. As a singer, your body is your instrument. Finding a balanced alignment and posture means your body is ready and available to sing.
- Manage and control your breath. The foundation of all great singing is good breath management. We'll help you learn to take a good breath, as well as use that breath to produce a consistent, even, and easy tone.
- Achieve a balanced resonance with properly formed vowels. You may have thought you were done learning to speak, but we'll explore in depth the coordination of the tongue, lips, and how that can help to maximize your sound while still having the audience understand your every word.
Ear-training, theory tutoring, and beginner piano
An important factor in having a successful and rewarding musical experience is having solid foundation in musicianship.
In addition to training voices, we also provide ear-training lessons, tutoring in music theory including preparation for Royal Conservatory exams, and beginner piano lessons (up to Royal Conservatory Grade 6).
